EXTN-275: International 12-month Externship
Offered as an option in the Food Business Management (BBA) degree program at Singapore only, this 12-month international supervised work experience is designed to expand career and cross-cultural knowledge while increasing speed, timing, organization, and ability to handle cooking in an approved commercial foodservice and hospitality establishment. Students will learn to analyze critically, and problem solve as global citizens. They will discover experientially as well as through assignments how food is reflected in the culture from the history of place. Students on externship will receive feedback from their supervisor during and will also be responsible for completing 2 academic essays each and one reflective essay.
Students choosing this international externship will not take History and Cultures of Europe.
MGMT-327: Digital Marketing for Food and Hospitality Brands
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and tools of digital marketing as they apply to culinary, hospitality, and food service brands. Focusing on brand storytelling, content strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media, students will learn how to attract, engage, and retain customers in the digital world. Topics include integrated marketing communication (IMC), delivery platform ecosystems (e.g., Uber Eats, OpenTable), paid advertising, influencer partnerships, website performance, and analytics. Students will complete a midterm skills-based project and a final portfolio-quality digital marketing plan.
