Catalog Updates


August 2016 Addendum

Students should note the following approved changes to programs, courses, and policies, effective 8/1/16, that occurred after the publication of the 2016–2017 Academic Catalog:

Wine and Beverage Graduate Certificate Program (WBGC)

Added new 30-week graduate-level certificate program.

Includes updates to Career Opportunities, Gainful Employment, Curricula, Course Descriptions, Admissions, Tuition and Fees, Financial Aid, and Academic Rules, Regulations, and Information.

Withdrawal Refund Policy, Residence Hall Fee Refunds (New York and California campuses)

Removed “moving off campus” from the third sentence.

Withdrawal Refund Policy (California)

Changed Tuition Refunds to Tuition and General Fee Refunds

Treatment of Title IV Aid When a Student Withdraws 

Removed footnote about using current-semester financial aid in excess of current-semester institutional charges to pay other miscellaneous college charges.

Meals—Board 

Updated to include new meal plan offerings for students at the New York campus.

On-Campus Employment

Added restriction of working no more than 20 hours per week while an active, full-time student.

 

December 2016 Addendum

Students should note the following approved changes to programs, courses, and policies, effective 12/16/16, that occurred after the publication of the 2016–2017 Academic Catalog:

Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA), Food Business Management Major

Added this degree and major in place of the BPS in Culinary Arts Management and BPS in Baking and Pastry Arts Management throughout the catalog.

Italian Cuisine: An Edible Journey from Traditional to Contemporary Concentration

Added this bachelor’s degree concentration, which is available to students in both the Food Business Management major and the Applied Food Studies major.

Program Learning Outcomes

Updated outcomes for all associate and bachelor’s degree programs.

Admissions: Junior-Year Applicants

Eliminated requirement for junior-year application to the culinary science bachelor’s degree program.

Commencement Awards

Clarified criteria for the Julius Wile Scholastic Achievement Award, Craig Claiborne Communications Award, and President’s Humanities Award.
